Around 15 years ago, during our adventurous travels through Southeast Asia, Karin and I, Mauri, began to spin a dream. We dreamed of a cosy little hotel for globetrotters, a place that would bring people from all corners of the world together. What began as a sparkling idea developed over the years into a crazy project that we wanted to realise at all costs.

When the world was shaken by the shackles of the pandemic and travelling was a privilege, we ended up in Zanzibar in 2020. There, on this island full of mystery and beauty, we found our new home.

We travelled through Zanzibar from north to south, from west to east, until we finally landed in Jambiani. This place, surrounded by friendly locals, lined with pristine white sand and enveloped in the changing colours of the sea at high and low tide, immediately held an irresistible attraction for us.

When we came across the plot of land and the building that was to serve as the nucleus of our hotel, which was still in the shell stage, we were blown away. Upon entering the property, the name was literally emblazoned on the pillars: "little.pompeii" was born.

​

Some of our friends and acquaintances thought we were crazy. But we didn't care much. After all, who said that dreams have to be reasonable? And yes, we are and always have been a little crazy.

Zanzibar is an island that envelops its visitors in a fascinating magic, a charm that is hard to resist.
