To get to Zanzibar, travellers have various flight options that depart from airports worldwide. However, there are few direct flights to Zanzibar from most places in the world. Instead, most airlines offer flights with stopovers in Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro or one of Tanzania's neighbouring countries.

However, some airlines such as Edelweiss (Swiss) from Zurich or Condor (Lufthansa) offer direct flights to Zanzibar. Especially for travellers from Europe, such direct flights can be a convenient option to avoid the hassle of changing planes and get directly to your destination.
